This Anna Selbdritt sculpture (an image of St Anne with the Virgin and Child) stands on a corbel beneath which angels can be seen playing music. The donor’s inscription beneath the group reads ‘victor sacerdos olim iudeus’ (the priest Victor, former Jew) and is a reference to the conversion to Christianity of the donor, Victor of Carben (14231515). The donor can be seen kneeling beside St Anne, the mother of Mary, in reverent adoration. Mary carries the Christ Child on her lap. Unlike Mary, St Anne is depicted wearing the wimple of a married woman.
